Things to do in Las Vegas, Nevada

Posted on July 14, 2020July 14, 2020 by Charles

Many people associate Las Vegas exclusively with gambling. In reality, there is plenty of fun and exciting activities to do for the non-gambler.

Fine Dining

Some of the best chefs from around the world come to Las Vegas to open restaurants. Many of these restaurants even have Michelin star ratings. If you have the budget, we recommend you check out:

  1. Restaurant Guy Savoy
  2. E by Jose Andres
  3. Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen and Bar
  4. Border Grill (from Chefs Susan Feniger and Sue Milliken)
  5. Bouchon (Chef Thomas Keller)
  6. Hell’s Kitchen (Chef Gordon Ramsey)
  7. Rivea (Chef Alain Ducasse)
  8. Cut (Chef Wolfgang Puck)
  9. Giada (Chef Giada de Laurentiis)
  10. Joel Robuchon

Shopping

If you want to come back with a slightly fuller suitcase, we suggest checking out the Las Vegas North Premium Outlets. Located near downtown Las Vegas, this outlet mall includes brands like Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Movado, Under Armour, and more. If you plan to go to the outlet malls, make sure you give yourself several hours to get through all the stores and their fantastic deals.

Shows

After shopping and eating, you’ll need something to take up your evenings. We recommend purchasing tickets to one of the many shows happening at all times on the Strip. Las Vegas has some of the best shows from world-famous musicians, performers, and magicians. You have plenty of options, including Cirque du Soleil, burlesque shows, or magical performances. With the big-time Vegas budgets, these shows are truly a wonder to see.

Visit the Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon during a Sunset

If you have access to a vehicle or don’t mind renting one, we recommend leaving the Strip for a day to see the Grand Canyon. Approximately a four-hour drive away from the Strip, the Grand Canyon is one of America’s most awestriking sites. Make sure you time your trip well, so you’re not viewing the park during the hottest part of the day.

For those who don’t want to drive there, you can also book transportation to the Grand Canyon by bus, helicopter, or luxury plane.

High Roller Observation Wheel

If you’re not scared of heights, the High Roller Observation Wheel is a beautiful way to view all of Las Vegas. It’s currently the highest observation wheel in the world, standing at 550-feet off the ground. You will spend 30-minutes taking in a 360-degree view of all of Las Vegas. Tickets for the wheel are cheaper in the day versus the night. You can even choose to upgrade your ticket to include an open bar and a bartender so you can sip some cocktails while you spin around.

As you conclude your vacation planning to Las Vegas, consider some of the history of the area by reading our article.

And of course, if you decide to find your own activity south of the border, we recommend you start your journey here.
