Irivne California

Irvine, California is situated in the heart of Orange County and is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and multicultural community. Irvine offers visitors a laid-back alternative to the hustle and bustle of LA but is just as unique and radiant as anything LA could offer. Major attractions in Irvine range from nature trails that allow tourists to experience the beauty of Orange County to fine art galleries and floating balloon rides you have to see to believe.

A visit to Irvine is not complete without a ride on the Great Park Balloon in Orange County Park. The large tethered balloon can accommodate 30 passengers at a time, and then is released 400 feet into the sky. Riders can feel the wind in their hair and see stunning views of the greater Orange County area as far as 40 miles out. Afterward, you can explore the park on foot to see some of the area’s scenic beauty up close.

Now that you have ridden the most iconic attraction in Orange County, consider trying out another truly unique activity you will only find in Irvine: the Zombie Scavengers interactive smartphone game. This interactive game is set in downtown Irvine and requires a special app you can download for free on your smartphone. You will be played against other teams downtown and need to collect supplies virtually to make it through the zombie apocalypse. Trivia quiz questions allow you to win virtual weapons and it is a race to the finish. Tickets to play in the game are available via Viator.

After running around the idyllic Irvine downtown, you will probably want to stop for a drink before exploring more of the city. The Left Coast Brewing Co. is the perfect place to pop into for a taste of some of the best beer in SoCo. Not only does the brewery offer guests access to a tasting room, but it also has a barbecue restaurant that is known for its pulled pork and slow-cooked beef brisket.

If you can, try to plan your visit to Irvine in September to coincide with the Global Village Festival. The one-day festival allows visitors to indulge in the sounds and sights of many diverse cultures around the world. This exciting event features over 100 dance and music performances, a Kid’s Village with cultural crafts, international cuisine, and a global marketplace.
