The area of Rancho Santa Fe is a small, mostly suburban area of San Diego County in Southern California that is three miles away from the coast of the Pacific Ocean and about halfway between Carlsbad and San Diego. If history is your thing then you should check out the Rancho Santa Fe Historical Society located in the middle of the area. This location will give you an insight into the founding of the area and also has information about how the village was founded and offered both historical photos of the area that you can track through the years of growth in the area as well as tours of the Santa Fe area either by walking through the village or viewing historical homes of the first settlers of the area. They offer both self-guided and group tours through their website.
Some people like to get physical when out and about, this town offers two public golf courses for you to play. Right in the village is Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club that runs along the major roads of the area. This unique narrow and slithering course is a great play for amateur golfers. It also offers a Golf Shop at the Clubhouse. The other golf course is The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe and The Bridges Golf Club. This course winds through The Bridges subdivision to the north has an upscale clubhouse to look forward to at the end of your playthrough.
If you’re looking to swing a racket, next to the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club is the Tennis Club which offers a dozen outdoor tennis courts to play on and a clubhouse to cool down at after you finish your games.
