Things to do in Tamaulipas

Posted on November 2, 2019October 21, 2019 by Charles

Traveling should be about more than mere tourism. If you really want to enjoy the benefits of travel, you need to take a step off the beaten path and seek out your own adventure. When you drive to Mexico and make Tamaulipas your destination, you can do just that.

The Tamaulipas region has a wealth of things to offer, from well-traveled tourist sites to hidden gems that are known to the locals but largely unknown to anyone else. If you work hard enough, you can uncover those hidden treasures, as well as the warmth and welcoming nature of the Mexican people. Here are some of the upcoming events in the Tamaulipas region, so you can start planning your Mexican getaway right now.

Miss Teen Universe

If you want to watch young people whose beauty is only exceeded by their accomplishments, why not take in the Miss Teen Universe Tamaulipas pageant. This celebration of feminine beauty of a pageant, to be sure, but it is about more than mere good looks. There are talent contests, speech competitions and other activities designed to show off the whole person. The competition is intense but friendly, and the winner will emerge with a host of prizes and that highly sought sash.

Sombrero Festival

Even if you know nothing about Mexico and its culture, you are sure to recognize this iconic hat. Now you can attend the annual Sombrero festival, held every February in the twin border cities of Matamoros< Mexico and Brownsville, Texas. And while the sombrero may provide the impetus, this celebration is more about fostering friendship and exploring cross-border cultural opportunities. Whether you are traveling in Mexico for a month, a week or just the day, this annual celebration is well worth your time.

Charro – Matamoros Tamaulipas Charro Days

Charro Days

If you think that cowboys and indians culture are just about the American West, you have another think coming. Every resident of Mexico knows that cowboy culture thrived south of the border. And talents like riding and roping have not gone out of style in the 21st century. When you visit the Tamaulipas region, you can enjoy the best of cowboy culture on both sides of the border. All of this is courtesy of the annual Charro Days celebration. Part rodeo, part parade, and all fun, you and your traveling companions are sure to have a great time.

With so many things to see and do, the Tamaulipas is a rich vein of fun for any traveler. Whether you are a first-time visitor to Mexico or have been there dozens of times, you are sure to have a great time.

You will have an even better time if you bring your car. Driving in Mexico is not as intimidating as you might think. As long as you take some common-sense precautions and protect yourself with quality Mexican car insurance, you can enjoy your Tamaulipas adventure without worrying about a thing.
