Upcoming events in Mexico – that’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout!
It’s been quite a while in-between posts. I’ve had a few distractions but I’m baaaack!
Some of the news regarding Mexico lately hasn’t been good. I’ll leave it to the internet and TV/radio to inform about the murders and drug cartel news, and to update on the recent yacht race tragedy. I prefer to concentrate on the positives. It’s Springtime! It’s a beautiful time to visit Mexico …
There are fishing tournaments coming up. Get your license online even. ( Coastal communities that are highly reliant on both commercial and sport fishing include San Felipe, San Carlos, Sonora, Cabo San Lucas, La Paz, Loreto, Guaymas, Bahia de Kino, Puerto Penasco, Topolobampo and Mulegé. )
44th Tecate SCORE Baja 500
Ensenada, Baja, Mexico
June 1-3, 2012
San Felipe is a destination of some of our family members this year. (Part of the Tecate 500, by the way, passes through here in June.) The lucky duck men in our family taking their “man time” away from the women (yea, we were told “it’s men only, sorry ladies”), will be in the water and riding quads! House rentals right on the beach are very affordable, and relatively luxurious. Of course we women will have our spa days at a later date, rest assured!
With Memorial Day coming we know tons of you are going to Baja or northern Mexico to celebrate the unofficial start of Summer.
Here’s another great destination idea: Tecate – good story from the U-T.

There will be surfing and camping, spelunking and horseback riding on the beach … for a lot less money and with fewer crowds!
Take your international-call enabled cell phone and your sunscreen, and forget your car insurance (of course 🙂 )
My best to you as always,
