SCORE Prerunning Begins Friday In Mexico On Rugged 454.69 Mile Course

43rd Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 500

SCORE = Southern California Off Road Enthusiasts

Prerunning begins Friday in Mexico on the rugged 454+ mile course!

SCORE International is an off-road sanctioning body in the sport of desert racing and is famous for its flagship event, the Baja 1000.

SCORE races are held in United States and Mexico. Founded by Mickey Thompson in 1973,SCORE continues today under the direction of Sal Fish.

SCORE International is very popular, even televised,  streamed live on the internet, and made into interactive games for Xbox and PS. Long before I started working for Mexico Insurance Services and becoming interested in Mexico news and events I was watching this race on TV (like watching a triathlon or  Deadliest Catch 🙂 – watching real-life survival of the fittest from the comfort of your Papasan … you sense the fear and danger without risk of injury, knowing those enduring it do it willing and fulfill their need for speed and addiction to adrenalin rushes!

If you’re involved in the race, directly or indirectly we cannot offer insurance coverage (“To participate either directly or indirectly with the vehicle in races or in safety, endurance or speed tests.” – Quálitas Compañía de Seguros); however, if you are going down to spectate, go to to get your insurance!

There IS danger to the drivers, of course, but spectators need to be very careful too. Many have been injured, some killed, by standing too close to the track. Watch from a safe distance, bring water, sunscreen, a camera, chair, and good friends! This can be row-dy! Have fun, enjoy the race – stay safe! After all, there are more races to come! You don’t wanna miss out 🙂
